At Sports Chaplaincy Australia, we are dedicated to the mission of preparing and supporting sports chaplains to be present for every aspect of life – both on and off the field.

Established in 1984, Sports Chaplaincy Australia is the national umbrella sports network for volunteer chaplains serving clubs and communities around Australia in sporting codes like football, cricket, netball, AFL, motor racing, NRL and many other sports.

As a not-for-profit we work in relationship alongside Christian churches and individuals, and we network with churches, sports leagues, sports institutes and Australian sports’ governing bodies.

Our network of accredited chaplains is equipped to provide the necessary care and support to individuals, teams, and communities in every season.

We understand the importance of building healthy communities that not only promote physical wellbeing but also foster positive spiritual, emotional and mental health. That’s why we work closely with local sporting organisations to create a supportive environment that caters to the holistic needs of every individual.

Our chaplains undergo thorough training and ongoing development to ensure that they are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide appropriate care and support to the community in all seasons of life. Whether it’s in times of joy or pain, our chaplains are there to provide a helping hand and a safe space for your community.

We believe that every person deserves to be supported and cared for, both on and off the field.

That’s why we’re committed to providing the necessary resources, training, and support to our chaplains, in conjunction with the local churches, so that they can serve their local communities with excellence and compassion.

We invite you to get in contact; whether you’re an athlete, coach, staff member, parent, or church. We are here to support you on your journey.

Having a chaplain provides invaluable support for both me and the individual players.

Josh Moore, Rye Football Netball Club

I believe chaplains are much-needed resources in our game. I think a lot of clubs don’t even realise the value they bring.

Craig Bellamy – Melbourne Storm Coach, NRL

The professional, caring attitude of the sports chaplains helped ease the pain of our loss somewhat, and guided us through some difficult times.
